For teachers

A free, five-minute bell-ringer on the day's money news, for high school econ and personal finance classes. No student accounts and no prep.

How to use it

  1. Bookmark the class mode link. It always opens the newest issue.
  2. Put it on the projector when the bell rings.
  3. Click through five slides: the top story, the scoreboard, a lesson, a quiz and a discussion question. Arrow keys and presentation clickers work too.
  4. Use the discussion question to open class, or save it for an exit ticket.

Aligned to the national standards

Every lesson is tagged with one of the six areas of the National Standards for Personal Financial Education: earning income, spending, saving, investing, managing credit and managing risk.

Games for class

The Play page has quick money games that work on a projector or on students' phones: a daily money word, a compound interest race, and a budget simulator for a first paycheck. No sign-ups.

A note on stocks

The stock of the day shows how real companies connect to the news. It isn't a recommendation, and it's left out of class mode, so you can skip it if you'd rather not discuss individual stocks.

Feedback

This is a student project, and teacher feedback makes it better. Add a way for teachers to reach you, like a school email address or a feedback form link.
